There is a communal waste bin store at Perrin Place/Nichols Court. This is strictly for Perrin Place, 10-12 Nichols Court and 3-6 Bridge House residents only.
It is also strictly for household waste only, which excludes items such as:
Shoes/Clothing, Electrical goods, floor coverings, furniture, garden waste, utensils.
In order for the bins to cope with the high volume of waste, it is essential that recycling protocol is followed. Putting the correct items in the right bins.
GENERAL WASTE
It is further imperative that bags of waste are not just laid on the ground alongside the bins, but actually put inside the containers. Bags on the ground get torn apart by foxes. The strewn litter is then blown around by the wind.
When rubbish is spread on the floor or on top of the bins and not inside (under the lids), the council waste collectors will often not take it away and it is then necessary to pay to have the mess cleaned up.
RECYCLING
The same goes for the recycling bins, some residents have just been leaving there recycling waste on top of the bins and not simply opening the bins and putting it inside.
FOOD WASTE
Please ensure food is disposed in compostable food waste liners ONLY. STRICTLY NO PLASTIC BAGS! If anything else is put in the bins then they are often not collected and it is then necessary to pay to have the bins sorted out.
CARDBOARD WASTE
Please also break cardboard boxes down before putting into the bin, as putting whole boxes in here causes the bin to fill up very quickly.
We do hope everyone will make the small effort to keep the store tidy to enable it to work efficiently.
If residents ignore these basic rules, CCTV is in operation and culprits may be identified. Charges will apply.
If anyone sees somebody abusing these basic bin store “rules” – please notify residents@rjpropertyservices.com
Together we can make Perrin Place/Nichols Court a better place to live.
